Our story

The bridge between the server room and the board

Cyber Resilience is an Australian advisory firm built on a simple conviction: resilience rises and falls on leadership, not on controls alone. From a Sydney consultancy to an internationally recognised authority on board-level cyber and AI risk.

What we believe

Six things we will not compromise on.

The convictions behind how we scope work, who we put in the room, and what we will tell a board it does not want to hear.

Business first, controls second

Strategy starts with how the organisation creates value and which digital crown jewels matter, not with a framework checklist.

Practitioners in the room

Advice comes from people who have carried the accountability themselves and reported to a board under pressure.

Plain language

If a director cannot act on it, it is not advice. We translate complexity into decisions, not diagrams.

Enable, don’t obstruct

Governance that only says no pushes risk into the shadows. Our job is to let the business move faster, safely.

Evidence over assurance

Boards need oversight they can demonstrate, not comfort they have been given.

Focus creates effectiveness

Protecting what matters most, properly, beats protecting everything thinly.

Our growth

Eight years, four turning points.

2018

Business launched

The founders saw boards failing to understand technical cyber risk, and leadership lacking the skills to have meaningful influence and impact. Cyber Resilience Pty Ltd was registered in May 2018 to translate complex risk into business language, and practitioners into business risk partners.

2020

Cyber Leadership Institute

Training methodology institutionalised through the co-founding of the Cyber Leadership Institute, moving rapidly into virtual executive coaching and building a community of security leaders across dozens of countries.

2024

Founders now full-time

Having built the business while still in their corporate roles, all founders moved into it full time. The AI imperative is driving renewed demand for cyber governance that scales at machine speed.

2026

From Sydney consultancy to global authority

Demand for training and advisory spreads well beyond Australia, now serving clients in more than 85 countries. New strategic partnerships, including with ISC2, the world’s largest cyber security membership organisation, drove the platform’s fastest growth in the United States.

Leadership

Practitioners, not commentators.

Every person who advises our clients has held the accountability themselves.

What’s next

The AI era needs the same discipline.

AI is reshaping both sides. Adversaries have better tooling — convincing deepfakes, AI-assisted phishing, automation at scale. Defenders have it too, if they use it well.

But the real exposure sits in the governance gap. Organisations are adopting AI faster than they can govern it, and accountability for AI decisions is often undocumented. That is the problem we were built to solve, in a new form.

Where we are focused
  • Giving boards an accurate picture of AI and cyber risk, and questions they can put to management
  • Making accountability for AI decisions explicit and documented, so oversight can be evidenced
  • Helping organisations adopt AI securely rather than blocking it into the shadows
  • Preparing the next generation of cyber leaders for a boardroom that now asks about AI, and answering the questions boards are asking
Let’s talk

Know you’re ready. Embrace AI with confidence.

Whether you need a board briefing, a strategy you can defend, or a CISO for the days you actually need one.
